We Can Help Today!

Express Harpenden glazing experts offer a variety of safety glass services including toughened glass installations and replacements. Toughened glass will usually shatter into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken, making it less likely to cause severe injury and deep lacerations. This is particularly useful for certain frames such as cat flaps, glass doors and tables.

Our Harpenden toughened glass normally takes three to five working days to order in for both single and double-glazed options. This glass is recommended for Harpenden residential customers, as the glass shatters into relatively harmless fragments upon impact, as opposed to the larger, more dangerous shards caused by breakage of normal glass. However, due to the security risk of having a large hole when the glass has been shattered, we do not recommend this for our Harpenden commercial customers, whom we offer laminate glass to instead.

Example Of Our Glass Services

Filming
We can supply a wide range of filming solutions, from safety filming (to enable normal glass to conform to safety glass standards), to tinted filming for specialist installations. Other types of filming are also available.

Heat-rejection film is film is a film applied to the interior of the glass, and is specifically designed to reflect most infrared, ultraviolet and visible light, and should be coupled with a low-emissivity coating applied to the exterior of the glass.

Privacy film can create a one-way mirror, depending on light conditions. Mirrored glass, if correctly applied, can create a mirrored effect on one side of the glass permanently, regardless of light levels on either side.

Safety film (Also called Security film"), is designed to prevent the glass shattering under impact stresses, and to safely contain the glass if shattering does occur. This is sometimes used on glass that has already shattered, to provide some integrity while replacement glass is sought.
